Hello, I just purchased a radio and two speakers and boxes for my 1959 Harvey boat. It has not ever had a radio in it so I am wondering how I would go about putting the head unit portion in the boat. There is an open space for the radio, but I would have to cut a hole in the dash and I would rather not if I didnt have to. Are there any options for mounting this radio in the boat ie. directly underneath the dash or is cutting a hole the only way?

Sure you can find one of the plastic project boxes and mount the radio in it and hang it under the dash.

Re: Radio install

The stereo system I put onto my boat has a Sony RM-X60M wired remote.

Can that round wired remote be mounted into one of the existing round holes on the dash?

The stereo could be buried at a reduced access location and the wired remote could be mounted into one of your existing holes. My stereo is the Sony CDX-H910UI.
