Quick impeller change question

I have split my lower unit 1997 alpha1 gen 2
I bought a kit with plate gaskets ipeller and 2 o rings. It did not come with a housing seal and my housing does not have one. Is it missing.?
From all the vids or posts I've found it seems it should be there. I'm assuming I should not put it back together without it?

have no idea what you bought without a pic.typically a kit includes impeller and keyway ,wear plate, 2 gaskets, 2 O rings for the water guide tube , and a small round flat seal fro the oil passage between the drive and a lower driveshaft rubber seal.

My kit did not come with the keyway or a seal for this shaft. Otherwise all seemed identical

Hopefully you used the old keyway , reuse the old seal if in good condition. Mercruiser and Sierra kits all come with those items, what kit did you get?

Yes old keyway. Off thing is I did not find an old seal either
The kit is a Sierra 18-3214
I'm just going to order a new kit tomorrow

I hate that I wasted an afternoon and now will leave the lower unit apart for several days
