Question about new Optimax

I just purchased a 2008 75hp Optimax. There is a small black tube coming from the gearcase. Is this the Pitot Tube, if so I have the Smartcraft SC1000 gauges, and how would I go about hooking this up? I have the Speedo/Pitot part, but where would it connect into the engine to provide the information to the Speedo?
