I have a 1989 ProV 150 and today while I was on the water the alarm went off and the light on the tach went from green to red. I thought it was an overheat alarm so i put it backnom the trailer. Going through my owners manual it says that I have low oil in both tanks, however both tanks are 3/4 full. Could it be faulty gauge, or does the light also indicate overheating?

Red light means low oil in the main engine mounted tank.

If the tank has oil in it then inspect the sensor/switch assembly.

The alarm and the light are completely separate from one another. The alarm means you have a problem and should immediately stop the motor. The light tells what the problem is.
