Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,... Please answer These few questions, 'n We find ya an answer....

I wasn't looking to correct anything specific, just wondering if by chance anyone else had this boat engine combo and found a better all around prop other than the one that comes on it. Thanks, Sean

Hey man, I have a 2004 212 with the 5.0 MPI in it. It came with 14.5x23 aluminum junk prop on it when I bought it. I could only do 4000 rpms @ 40 mph GPS......Went down to the local prop guy and told him my dilemma. He recommended a REV4 to me after I told him what I wanted. Good cruise GPH and good bite. Well, I got out and tried it last week. The prop is a 15.25x19 4 blade beast. Its a venting prop mind you. After you get on plane the boat pulls like a clydesdale all the way to 50 mph GPS @ 5000 rpms, full tank of fuel, just me on board. I got what I was looking for out of it. This particular hull does not plane well from what I have gathered so switching to a 4 blade prop did WONDERS to me. It lifts the whole boat UP and OUT of the water. Now, I have to mess with the vents some to get my holeshot correct.

Forgot to add. It started to walk around right at 50-51 mph. So without tabs thats the safest speed your gonna get outta that hull. I like to haul butt. Not half throttling around the lake. I wanna get up an go. Thats why I got the REV4. I got mine used for under 230 bucks. New they are 500+ But its all in what you want outta your particular ride.

One more thing. That prop was designed for bigger, underpowered boats. Our boats fit that particular catagory. My boat weighs 3200 lbs dry. you have to figure in fuel (6.4 lbs a gallon at 38 gallon tank) = 240 lbs + (2 average adults @ 200 lbs and 120 lbs) = 320 + cooler, drinks, dog, sub sandwich, life jackets, extra sunscreen, skiis, and other random crap 200 lbs puts us right at under 4000lbs for *small* 260 hp v8. Thats roughly 15 lbs per 1 hp dont know if thats good or bad, but I do know your gonna want 17-21 pitch prop. GO stainless if you can afford it. 21 pitch is gonna probably be too much. 17-19.......17 For tubes, skiis, yanking kids arms outta sockets, etc. 19 for cruising..........I dont think I missed anything.

I have a brand new never been installed 16P Enertia prop I'll hold on to for trade when I figure what I want. My new boats never been on water yet so I'll have to check it out and see RPM's at WOT. The props been balanced and tuned also. It was for my 150 Opti motor on my last boat.

I would imagine the prop that came on it from the factory is a good all around prop; unless Rinker doesn't know what they are doing. :)

You would be surprised at what happens to props once the boat gets to the dealer. Some show up with the right one, some dont. Some get swapped at the marina before you recieve your boat. Heck mine came with the wrong one from the factory. 14x23 and I could not even hit WOT right off the trailer..........just sayin.

I think that would be a tad under propped. Top speed might only be around 25-30 MPH, but you sure would get there in a hurry. Look at the prop on the boat, see what dia. and pitch it is first. Then go from there.
