One that puts your top rpm with an average load at 5800. Tell us more about your set up, load and typical use. What props have you tried? What were the resultes? Is the motor mounted on the transom or is there a jackplate?

Re: partsman57

It's a bass boat with three deep cycle batteries and built in gas tank all in rear plus driver seat is just behind center. My prop has no numbers on it,bought used and motor mounted on transom.
Gets out of hloe slow real slow. Some times have to step forward to plane out.

Have you checked under the prop nut for numbers.A prop shop can tell you the size.
To be accurate we really need your present prop size rpm and speed.
Without your numbers we don't even know which way to go with prop selection.
Without a tach and a gps we can't tell if a prop replacement has put the motor where it needs to be.

Re: Prop for 16' kingfisher with 70hp johnson

I guess you have a fiberglass bass boat. If that is the case, my boat is very close to your boat. Johnson recommended to use a 13"1/4 x 17" prop for 85HP engine on an average load. When I used a prop of that size, the boat performance was not good. I ended up using a Michigan Wheel 13"X19" 3-blade prop. So, you can look at the props in this neighborhood.
