i have a 2006 trophy 2052. i met a guy at the marina who was washing down his boat with a power washer. sounded like a good idea to me - but i was wondering if there was a chance that this could damage the deck and/or gelcoat?
any thoughts?
thanks,
carlos

Re: power washer - yes or no?

I drive mine thru a self serve carwash after I leave the launch ramp (two hour drive home for me) just to get all the salt off. But, I keep the spray about 2-4' away. Except on the deck that has fish blood and stuff. I keep the spray from directly hitting the window ports, calking, etc....I don't think it will hurt the gel coat, fiberglass decking, starboard lids, stainless steel railing and fittings.

If I can give you some advice it's to hand wash your boat often. That's pretty much when you will really notice things to take care of. The other time is while your 50 miles off shore

I have a 1989 2302 and I have always used a 2250 psi pressure washer on it... I use the fan spray setting with no problems.
