Does anyone know of a cross reference chart for old TOP trim setups?
I have a 115 with the remote trim pump and I recall reading on here years ago that you could fit newer brackets to these that had the trim pump built in.
IIRC it was any of the Mariner or Merc TOP's from 86 and up but I can no longer find the posts about it?
Cheers,
Jon

Yes the swap is doable, and requires pulling the Powerhead off the Exhaust Housing to access the Upper Rubber mounts. 1984 was the first year for the Integral Trim/Tilt System, on the Inline 4s and 6s.
It will also require you to plug and seal the existing Holes in the Transom, and drill new ones using the OMC Pattern as the new Bracket uses that

Edit: You also will need to acquire all Electrical parts that go along with the newer Bracket, and mount them on the Motor

Thank you sir!
So any inline 4 or 6 from 84 I guess till 88 should do the trick then?

Make sure it is a unit with Power Trim, there are some non-power trim units out there. And don't forget to get/keep all the other Electrical Parts, as the Solenoids and wiring are inside the engine Cowl with the Newer design
