2001 Mercury 125 horse two stroke on a 2001 Starcraft 176 fisherman.
Standard Mercury control lever with tilt and trim on the handle.
Keys to start engine is on the dash.
Motor tilts up and down fine from the starboard switch on the motor.
The switch from the control unit does nothing
the switch from the forward control unit does nothing
Should the red wire to either of these switches have 12 power all the time?

Is there a dedicated fuse or circuit breaker for that power feed or is it drawing from the ignition switch?

Re: power tilt trim switch not working

PTT switch at the remote controls will have a heavy duty wire (16Ga?) usually red/trace, to run the PTT relays or solenoids. The power wire for the ign switch is usually too light.
