Pitting on starboard lower cyl. jacket. 110 johnson runs good?

I took the head off to clear out any junk causing her to over heat this is what I found.
motor is a 1989 johnson 110, psi @90 on all on initial test before installing powerhead on 1987 90hp motor body.
Future problems??

I'd say that if it's holding 90 lbs of compression it's fine. A light honing would fix it but, that would require a complete tear down. I'd run it like it is.

Possible that you have ingested some minor amount of water in that cyl and it's been there long enough to pit the cast iron liner. Any water is not good. Perhaps a leaky head gasket. Or an internal exhaust leak. This looks like a lower cyl- and the exhaust leaks tend to affect those cyls first. I'd look to resolve the issue that created the pits. Some light oil and emery cloth may polish out the most of the pits. Likely the ringset will see increased wear in that area.
