I just took my lower unit apart to discover my pinion gear shredded. The engine seized at WOT the week before, I pulled the plugs and used PB blaster for 2 days until it was un-seized and starting well on a flush hose. I put it in this week and after a short time it made a noise and would not shift. When I took it apart my pinion was shredded. Anyone have any idea's about what went wrong? I have ordered a new pinion gears the other gears and both shafts, (prop and drive ) look Ok. can I just rebuild it?
