A lot of people say thrust has to be parallel to direction of travel for best performance, but in the real world a bit of over trim is where the boat attains the highest speed. Planing hulls do not plow thru the water level, nor does and airplane fly level. The is always a tilting where the front is higher than the rear, well except when a plane is diving

This whole comparing a prop on an airplane vs a prop on a boat is comparing apples to oranges. In other words...fairly useless and not sure what the point was to begin with.

Both are props and utilize Newton's 3rd law. Different medium though

I was just responding to that. Just guessing what the OP was pondering

The point about finding similarities on both props while achieveing top thrust powering their own applications while both "toys" runs air/water leveled flat out has already flown moons back to Jupiter. What's the point continuing if the tech point has already been missed, touche about being useless...

If you like dialing what you stated on your current application, do so, and if works spot on on your boating outings, congrats. doesn't work for any new Yam, Tohatsu, and rebadged brands. That's the sweet OB transom height and many boaters are dialing that precise lower leg height on their combos with top water performance. Check :

See if you can dial this : Water flow at speed passing around or slight above anticav plate only works ok on flat calm straight water courses. Prop will aereate badly on choppy, wavy, windy non flat water cond, worst at tight close turns at speed, what's is it that you don't understand or it's extremely complicated to undertand ?
