Patching/tepairing small areas

I have several what I'll call gouges in the hull of my boat. Mostly along the keel area and one on the bottom of the transom. These are through the gelcoat but are not holes. There are no leaks. What is the best way to repair these? Keep in mind that I'll be working overhead. I thinking some kind of fiberstrand fiberglass filler like the kind used to fill holes in auto bodies before Bondo is applied. I would be able to use this without any sags or drips. What do you all think?

Re: Patching/tepairing small areas

Thanks for the answer. I've used Marine Tex for filling small holes but it didn't occur to me to use it for what is basically "body repair". It's perfect since it comes in white and my hull is white so I may not have to paint if it matches. I'll have to wait for summer though since I don't have a garrage and the air temps should be in the 70's for it to cure I think.
