Hi all
Well, my kicker finally died on me. And on the second day of a week long fishing trip too. Lucky for me, I was at a Lodge that rents out boats and they let me rent one of their motors for the rest of the week.
As it turns out, it is the stator that needs replacement.
This is a 1971 7.5hp Kiekhaefer. I paid $150.00 for it without a fuel pump; which I had no problem finding for $30.00 and it ran great.
The stator wiring insulation is baked and crumbling and the resin encased part of the stator is cracked open.
EDIT: Soliciting is not allowed, patpel.
cheers
