I am about to install the windshield on my new painted boat and the alu frame does not look good. I tried to polish with aluminum cleaner/polish but it does not do the job. I think painting the frame will be the best way to go.
Does it require any special primer/paint or can I use any kind? I don't want it to peel after just a year or two.

RegardsRegards
MikeMike

Crab Bait is right. Prime it with zinc chromate. You need something to etch the metal and get a good hold.

Re: Paint aluminum

Thanks guys. I will sand it with 220/320 and prime it with the zinc chromate.
