New boat owner I was wondering what do you guys think of the mercury optimax direct injection motor in saltwater. It will be flushed thoroughly after each use by the marina (we know them).

Been used in salt water for years and no problems other than regular things that go bad.
Just make sure the guys know you tip good or do it yourself.
Most marinas have a wash rack.Put it there after your done and flush it yourself.

There is NO ONE who will take care of your boat better than you!!!
Lots of guy who work at marinas do a good job.But suppose they forgot and didn't do it and it sat for a month. The salt crystilizes and chews up your pump.
Settles in a corner in the head and soon a pocket forms and a seal goes?
I worked at marinas for years and know who gets that job.The newguy!
They aren't gonna pay the top guy to flush motors.
AWWW just kidding, they will probably do a good job. Just tip GOOD!!

Oh these folks are great I was just curious if anyone ran into issues with them. When they pull the boat they flush them then before they move they put it on the rack. Basically they wash the interior for you lift the boat clean the exterior and motor and place it on a rack (boat hotel style marina)
