Hi All,

I'm new to this forum and thought I'd share some pictures of my unque pontoon boat. I started designing and building her about 13 years ago.

Hey Wooden Pontoon, welcome to iboats. I've been keeping up with your progress on PDB forum. Should let these people know that Pontoon & Deck Boats covered your boat in a recent issue. Great project.

Very nice pontoon boat. I really like the detailed craftsmanship on her. What kind of wood did youi use to build her. The dash is what I like about her with all of those guages built into it. Have a Great!!!!! time with her.

Thanks for all of the interest and compliments everybody!

How did you build the tubes??

The outboard tubes were strip-built, much like a canoe or a kayak. The center tube was cold-molded with 2 layers of diagonal strips and epoxy.

.... Should let these people know that Pontoon & Deck Boats covered your boat in a recent issue.

Thanks Glenn. My boat was featured in the July 2010 issue of Pontoon & Deck Boat (PDB) Magazine. I believe the electronic preview is still available on-line @ www.pdbmagazine.com

.... What kind of wood did youi use to build her. The dash is what I like about her with all of those guages built into it.

There are maybe 20 different types of wood in her: spruce, oak, maple, teak, mahogany, curly maple (Dash panels - from my grandfather's tree), walnut, butternut, cedar, western red cedar, redwood, bird's-eye maple, pine, Brazian Cherry, Okoume, ...

Thanks for the compliments guys! I appreciate them.

What do you figure it weighs?

She weighs approximately 2900 pounds (wet weight), which I don't believe is too much heavier than a similar sized aluminum boat. I really tried to keep the weight down while I was building.
