OMC Alignment Tool?

I plan on pulling the drive next week. Straight off, replace the bellows and seals, and straight back on.

Do I need to order thie alignment tool? Or is that only needed if you pull the drive and engine... ?

If I've got to buy it, anyone have a good source?

87 4.3 V6 with regular Cobra outdrive.

You check the alignment when the drive is off to make sure nothing has changed or gone bad. It's just a way of making sure all is well when you put the drive back on.
It also keeps you from having to replace that $300+ coupler and pulling the engine to replace it.
But it's your choice if you want to check it or not.
