I have a 1968 SC - with original gauges that went with a 2.5 L mercruiser 120- I installed a newer (1990) 3.0 Liter Mercruiser - None of the gauges work - They may be old....have gauges changed over the years? Is the sending information from the motor basically the same over the decades?

I really like the old gauges but they need to work too?

Any advice would be great!

Re: Old Gauges/Newer Motor

The gauges don't care how old or new the motor is. It is the senders on the engine that work with the gauges. The gauges need +12 volts when the key is on, ground, and the sender signal from the engine. If none of the gauges work, look for missing +12 volts and or ground.
