Hey there folks,<br /><br />Ive swapped this 1970 80HP merc onto a late 80s aluminmum fishing boat, it was originally equipped with a 50 Force engine.<br /><br />I hooked the cables to the force control box since it was nicer than the old merc box. now I have found a problem.<br /><br />the throttle pushes, the old merc needs it to PULL.<br /><br />the box had alot of mounting holes and options for teh cables inside, labled "merc" "omc" and such.<br /><br />Im wondering if it can be modified to pull the cable instead of pushing? are they normally universal?<br /><br />are all merc controls the same? if I need another box, will a newer merc box work?<br /><br />thanks!
