First off, not sure if in the right area of forum, already posted in jetski section as well. I got a 2001 Seadoo Challenfer 2000 with a merc m2 jet drive 200hp, is there any oils in this thing which should be changed on a regular basi---ie: trans. oil ????? My local dealer are a buch of eggheads, won't tell me anything, except for "bring it in and we'll change what is needed" I don't trust them. I can do most the maintenance myself, so any help from you guys is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Re: oil questions for the other boat

Prolly needs to go down one in the Personal Watercraft section . . . Maybe the Merc OB section as that is an OB powerhead . . . Or maybe here . . . Hmmmmmm. That's a two cycle right? There is no trans on a jet, but there may be zerks for grease on the pump itself. I don't know. The more I think about this the more I think you may be in the right place    :)

Its a 2 cycle 200hp merc powerhead--so I am told it is a powerhead.

It's a Mercury outboard power head, moving to the Mercury outboard forum.

If you plan to do your own maintenance, you should get a maintenance manual, preferably OEM.

There should be some maintenance instructions in the user's manual.

hope it helps
