oil pump not working after removal, 60TLRD

I disassembled my engine because I had to hone a cylinder. When I removed the oil pump, a small brass colored disc came out. I think I assembled the oil pump correctly, but now it does not pump (oil level doesn't go down at all after being on the water for 2 hours). I mixed oil in my gas just in case my oil pump didn't work, so I hope I don't burn my engine again. But, I'd like for the oil pump to work again. It seems so simple, I don't know why it won't pump? does anyone know how to assemble the oil pump?

Buy a manual here on Iboats or ebay. Everyone who owns a motor should have one for there engine. Makes troubleshooting so much easier. Plus there's usually detailed diagrams of every part. That way you'd know what parts you assembled incorrectly. Most of them are only 30 or 40 bucks. Just some food for thought.

Thanks for the idea! I have a factory Yamaha manual. It shows some detail of the oil pump, but it does not show the circular brass plate for some reason?
