Oil Filter Mercruiser 7.4L OF126634

Looking for a WIX Racing part number for this application. The engine builder outfitted the boat with a hi-flo pump and recommended using a Wix Racing filter.. Unfortunately during the filter removal process the part number on the sticker was damaged. Does the filter require a anti drain feature, since the filter is mounted vertically?

Is the anti drain back actually going to serve any purpose on an inverted bottom mount filter setup? I went ahead and purchased it anyways, but was just curious as to why this would be recommended.
