I purchased a boat last year, and had major engine work done.
I would like to change my own oil this year in prep for summer.
I have no idea what Oil filter I need....
It is a 1991 20ft Bayliner, with a Mercury 4.6L Engine. 185hp.
V-6.

Also, is Penzoil 10-30 ok?

Thanks in advance.

Is the oil filter mounted on the engine block, or is it a remote oil filter (not on the actual engine block)?

Mounted under the engine, in the rear upside down. To access, I have to remove the battery on the right side (facing aft) it is just before the Alpha drive, on the right side (facing rear). I just can't read what it is, tried using my camera, but hard to get angled correct.

Merc part number -41815.... Any other brand will cross-reference to that number. (and yes, it's a nightmare to get to. I fitted a remote oil filter kit to mine. Use a bigger and cheaper filter that was a 3.6 minute job to replace. :D)
