I am in the process of replacing my AC on my Doral 270SC. I have researched at length Dometic, Webasto, Marinaire, Ocean Breeze and Mermaid 6,000-10000 BTU self contained units. My research includes a cross referenced matrix including dimensions, warranty, BTU's, amperage draw, and of course cost. I really like the Marinaire but the 9000 BTU model simply does not fit - so it is out. I am afraid the 9000 BTU Webasto might not quite fit, either, so I am going to shy away. The Mermaids are nice and have longer warranty but they make up for it in cost. I just don't hear so much good stuff about Dometic any more so I am leaning toward the Ocean Breeze. They are very compact and run with very low amperage. I also think they used to be standard equipment on Doral - but that was a long time ago. I just don't see or hear much about them and would like to know more before I bite the bullet. I would really like some more feedback. Anyone? Please.
