Noon Rectifier question

I ordered a new CDI rectifier/Regulator for my Johnson 70hp. It has a short ground wire on it. I realize I am overthinking this but would it be better to ground it where the power pack ground is or just ground it to its own mounting bolt?

The ground need to be right against the block, a star washer is your friend. That's all. Clean and tight ground to block.

Eh, so I received the rectifier/regulator and it has a 5th grey tach wire. I called CDI and the guy said it was OK to connect it to the grey wire terminal even though I don't have a tachometer. Just want to confirm because I am not sure what is coming into the grey terminal on my J70ELCIM

I guess a better question is what type of tachometer should I be looking at that works with this rectifier regulator
