No Spark

I have an '86 Bayliner with a 125hp Force outboard. Last fall, the last time I took the boat out, it ran as great as ever. Brought it home, put it in the garage. About a week later I pulled it out of the garage to winterize and flush the engine. It would not start. With the help of my neighbor, we discovered that there was no spark. How can I lose spark when it was not in use? What should I look at first as I begin to fix this problem for the upcoming boating season? My guesses would be a coil or the magneto, but the fact that it ran fine last time I used it doesn't jive with an electrical component frying out, does it? Any suggestions would be great.

Re: No Spark

tony ,you might check the magnet in the flywheel.these motors have an issue with the magnet coming unglued[that's how I got mine so cheap]If that's the case ,it can be reattached with epoxy. It's an easy check, and easy fix. . .moparman
