No Rating Plate

I recently bought a 1981 Blue Fin 16' Aluminum boat with a 1999 25 hp Johnson, I want to add it on my insurance policy, but my insurance company is asking for the information on the rating plate. Unfortuneately I can't find the rating plate. The only plate I can find is on the very back of the boat, and it looks like it is just the serial number. Does anyone have an idea where I can find a replacement, or photo of the rating plate?

Thanks!

Re: No Rating Plate

Might ask them what specific information they need as the plate is not on the boat (It's not necessarily required to be on the boat except when the manufacturer sells the boat, I think). You can generally collect that off the web.

... but Blue Fin is still in business. They might be able to help you out. Owners manual might even be on their site.

Re: No Rating Plate

Welcome to iboats newyooper. U.P., yooper ?

The blue fin that made your boat has changed hands a couple times since the late 80's.
The new owners have dropped the line and name, and have not been very cooperative in the past.

Talk with you agent and ask what info they need.

Then try to find another owner with the same boat, and ask for the info.
You may find someone right here on iboats.

You can try here, in the Blue Fin forum: http://forums.iboats.com/Blue_Fin_Boats?boatid=35

You can get a new plate (decal) made here: http://garzonstudio.com/boat/capacity-decal.html
