New Control Cables or Extenders?

If a want to install a jackplate and my cables are not long enough, do I have to replace the cables, or is there some way to extend the cables? Where can they be purchased? 1990 Champion Mean 15 and a 1989 Rude 88 HP.

Replace them with new of the proper length...
