So the Trophy 19" X 13-3/4 ran out great at 5900 rpm and 46 mph gps

The above was reported by the mechanic. I tested the boat myself yesterday and the tach read 6200 rpm. Speedo read 46 mph, but gps was actually 42 mph. I thought 46 sounded too good to be true.

So actual results are 6200 rpm at 42mph (gps). I probably could go up to a 21 pitch and get 56-5800 rpms but the last thing I want to do is buy another prop.

Thanks for all the suggestions, guys.

i would keep the prop you have - you will appreciate the hole shot when you get more folks onboard. changing to a 21 will only get you 2 mph faster - not worth the money (just my opinion)
