Folks,

I have an older Venture trailer for my 14 foot skiff. I do not have a title and the VIN Plate is missing. The axle spindles, bearings, races, and springs are shot and need to be replaced. I took some measurements but find that I may not have all I need. The trailer is not local to me and I can't get to it quickly to take more. What are the critical measurements needed when replacing an axle and springs?

Here is what I have:

Hub Face to Hub Face is 49 inches
Spring Center to Spring Center is 38 inches
Spring shackle bolts are 23.25 inches
Axle is square and 1.75 inches

Do you think these are sufficient to order over the internet? Thanks.

Re: New axles for old trailer

I had to change the axles off my trailer not too long ago. The previous owner did not take care of it. He used it in salt water and did not wash it and over time the part that is welded to the axle is rusted and when I took the hub out, I found the spindle was worn down. Went online to look for 2 new axle and there is a lot of website on trailer parts. All you have to do is give them a call and they will be able to help you with what you need. Good Luck.
