Need some suggestions -35 Evinrude 3cyl

This is a 1997 Evinrude, that starts fine, will run for a while 5-10min then just suddenly dies. Once it dies, it will not restart until it sits for 5 min or so, and then will fire right up and do the same thing.

When it wont start, I don't have spark on any of the 3 cylinders. Problem is, it won't stay that way long enough to do much testing, before it will fire right up again, and do the same thing.

I'm kind of leaning towards the power pack, but was hoping someone might have some ideas, or confirm my diagnosis.

do you have a DVA meter or a cd77?if so you should be able to back pin the connections,check it while it is running.stator,sensor & power pack output voltage.

no, unfortunately I do not. Might have to break down and take it to the dealer.

thats better than winding up with extra parts,if your guess is wrong.those parts are not cheap.good luck,rick

that is an expensive pack, and i do not see an after market part for it.

yeah, I noticed the same thing, must not have been popular enough for the aftermarket.
