I?m sure this question has been answered somewhere, but I am in a pinch and need a quick answer. The kids want to ski!!!
My Mercruiser 140 has a crack in the head and needs replacement. I have located an OMC 140; however, the ports on the head are not the same. The intake ports are not divided on the OMC head like they are on the M/C head. A review of different web sites shows that M/C also had a similar head style at one point. Obviously my manifold, which I intend to use, also has divided intake ports.
So my question; can I mate the OMC head with undivided intake ports to my M/C manifold with divided ports? If so, should I use a divided port gasket or go with the undivided intake port gasket?
Many thanks in advance for your help.
