I understand this would be more costly, but have you thought of upgrading all the components to new design, or is that to much over the budget?

From the looks of the 1st pics and the fact that it is a 78 CC it should be a Marine Power Engine. Unfortunately they are no longer in business.
I found an engine lineup that they offered, maybe this is helpful.

Do you have a decent pic of the boat? It sort of looks like a Lancer from you're avatar pic, except they were 23ft. It's hard to tell from the pic. Does a have a sliding hatch on the bow?

I will get some pictures later. It has a hatch on the bow with two knobs you loosen and tighten to to prop it open
