So I bought a used intake manifold for a project I am working on. I need part # 0396790, and found a used one online at a boat dealer. The dealer advertised the part as being # 0396790 which is what I needed. I received the part in the mail yesterday and I come to find out that the #0396790 was painted on as you can see in the picture, but there is an actual stamped number on the lower portion of the intake that says #331518.

Can anyone verify that this is the same part? I have searched all of the parts list and can't find anything that says #331518 on it. I just want to know that I have the right part or not, and if not then I'll need to return this.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Yea, that 331518 is stamped on both my 30's manifold. FYI. One is '87 and the other is a '88. It must correspond to a mold used for casting the part.

Important question is:Does it fit? If so you are home and dry.

Re: Need help identifying part # 331518... Intake Manifold

So, to give a little more information, I am trying to convert my 1989 25 hp (TJ25ELCEB) into a 35 HP motor. I'm told this is a pretty common swap during the mid 80's early 90's. All it takes is a manifold and carburetor from a 35 hp model. The manifold I need is # 0396790, but the stamp on the front through me off. I don't know if it fits or not as I haven't tried installing it yet. I just received it yesterday and was considering returning it thinking it might be the wrong part. I measured the intake hole and it does measure 1.5" which indicates it was used on a 35 hp motor, but not sure if all the bolt holes are the same. I guess for $50 I might as well give it a try. I was just curious if anyone could verify the number or cross reference it to the number I need as I haven't been able to find anything on it. As Jasper mentioned, maybe it's just a mold number or something and not the actual part number assigned to this part.

Thanks for the input guys. If anyone else has any new info on the topic I would certainly appreciate it.

And just throwing this out there, I'm still in the market for a used 35 HP carb if anyone has one to sell or knows where I can find one. I need part# 0432705 which is superseded by #0439389.

Thanks,

Chris
