need 300 hp lower unit please help

i bought a boat with a 1980 300 hp mecury,lower unit ia cracked bearings are shot.can any one help. thanks doug

1980 300 hp?? I didnt know they made them back then. Are your actually meaning 30 hp? Merc used to add a zero on the side of the motors back them. I had a boat with a 100 hp inline 6 merc on it and it said 1000 hp just under the engine cowling. If it is a 30 hp my father blew up a 1984 model, I believe it was a 30 or 35 hp. Dont know if the lower untis are the same or not but will find out what the hp on his blown motor was. the lower end is fine on it and it has sat in a a shed since 1994.<br /><br />Deerdog

it is a 300 hp v6 or a 3.4lt<br />but thanks for your input
