My brother just bought a 1963 Starcraft and trailer for $50. Juts the other day he also found a 14" 1959 Alumacraft Aluma Line and trailer for $50, so that means two boats with trailers for $100 in just 2 days. He has decided that the Starcraft would be his boat, so he is going to be doing most of the work.
At a bare minimum it needs is to be gutted and have the transom replaced, leaks found and sealed and new benches installed and a motor purchased. The trailer needs a new wheel bearing but is otherwise serviceable if a bit ugly. What he wants to do is also replace the floor, put a casting deck up front and a side console in it.
The previous owner had it on the water a few years ago in it's current, but less rotted configuration. However, since then it was just sitting and had branches and garbage stacked in it.
Here's some pictures.
I'll post pictures of any progress and will likely ask questions as well.
