Hello Everyone,

I just purchased this seaking 9.9 with a 10 ft sib. i would like to know what year it is. model VWB 52299 serial 08X 20948. and i need to replace the prop. the only numbers i see on the prop is 286265 the prop has a 1 1/2" X 1/8" chip in 1 of the 2 blades. and would a 3 blade work better? i have a seaking 7.5 (BTW, Thanks to all that gave me info in reviving the outboard)w/ a 3 blade prop and just wondering before i buy the prop for the 9.9. i will be using this sib in the SF bay for fishing for Stripers,Sturgeons & Halibuts. any information and advise is appreciated.

It is a 1980. That is the easy part.

Aftermarket service manual says both 2 and 3 blade props are used.
Motors should be propped for 4250-5250 rpm.Generally it is recommended to shoot for the upper end.You can have the prop measured at a prop shop and may be able to have it repaired though I don't know if it would be more cost effective.
