Mid 90's v4 115 hp motor in a 1985 v4 90 hp Evinrude body?

Can a Mid 90's 115hp OMC engine fit in 1985 VRO 90 hp ? they are both bubble backs. This is a complete motor swap not just the power head.

Does anyone have any opinions?
how much power will this make if it works?
Is a cowling going to be an issue? Will it fit with no problems

well the motor came off of a 1996 fourwinns fling its a v4 115hp
and its going on a 1985 evinrude v4 90hp outboard (low compression in #4 and #3))

Dressed being it was the entire unit even the jet drive anyways wondering it it will work

If the power head base gaskets are the same it should work, just my opinion tho'.

I doubt the 90 hp engine is what you think it is. The 90 hp engine in 1985 was a flatback, not bubble back. OMC did make a bubble back 115 in 1985. You may have a 1985 115 hp with a 90 hp cowling. You may want to recheck the model number on the 1985 engine to confirm the year. Once you know the year of the 1985 block, you can determie if it will swap. If it is a 1985 115 powerhead, the swap will work.

i got the motor back and it runs great. just some more final tuning and ill be ready for the season. everything seems to mount up right.
