Hi
My 1982 outboard is a mongrel, Mercury head unit and mariner leg/lower unit. At present I'm using a mixture of 50:-1, the engine is very responsive and sounds fine but the exhaust is very smokey (blue smoke) is this the correct mixture ratio. The engine has had very little use but had been stored for about 2 -3 years prior to my ownership, does it need a good run to clear any crud from inside the crankcase?
