Mercuiser 3.0 coupler problem

Hello all. I was replacing my 3.0 mercruiser after repairing a broken starter bolt. While installing the motor, we inadvertently lowered the engine while the coupler was resting on the transom assembly. So, the weight of the motor was supported by the coupler. Now, as I was afraid of, there is no alignment due to the fact the coupler seems to be pushed up and is not completely centered in the gimbal bearing. Wondering what my next course of action might be. Pull the motor and replace coupler? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Doubtful you could actually bend a coupler bolted to the crank. Try spinning the motor to see if it turns true or wobbles.
