It is possible to replace the Gimble housing on a Mercruiser Alpha Gen 1 without removing the engine?
I have a 1988 Carver with twin Mercruisers. One of the Gimble housing was replaced about 4-5 years ago by the previous owner, the other it original to the boat. It is in poor shape and replacement might make sense, but removal of the engine may make replacement to cost prohibitive. Any help would be appreatiated.

Thats what I though. I guess I will just work with what I have and fix, repair, maintain to suit.

Thanks

I just had my gimbal ring replaced. Did not have space or enough knowledge to do myself. It was expensive in just the aspect of it, good luck to you
