I will be going to a lake this summer that is at 5400' elevation. Not sure if it will be okay or not. I was going to bump the timing up a bit to help but thought i would ask the experts first.

Timing doesn't know what the elevation is. The fuel mixture does.
The Mercruiser maintenance manual suggests going to a lower pitch propeller when operating at higher altitudes.

Thanks. We often bump up the timing in our off road vehicles and works quite well. We wheel from sea level to 9000 ft.
