I have a 1975 500 50hp merc and have just recieved a new switch box that I ordered. Its the one that has 4 color terminals; red, blue, white and green. There are also two threaded holes casted into the body itself. One is below the green terminal and I know is for gnd to distributer. The other is up in the corner but not sure what its for. Ground wire to frame mabey? please help if you can. Thank you.

Yes, these are both ground lugs. They are critical too, so regardless of where you ground them, ground them good, and coat them to waterproof the connections.

Thanks 12 footer. Just so I have it straight, there are 2 grounding lugs, the one below the coil terminal(green) goes to the gnd side of the coil and the other to ground?
