Merc sterndrive ID

This is the serial number off the lower unit: 5744822

can someone tell me what kind of drive this is so i can get a manual and other parts for it? thanks

i believe this is a one drive but i need confirmation. if it is, then the link for the manual doesnt work. can someone give me a part number for the exhaust shutters? thanks

What engine and year?
The older SN's like that can't be tracked to a specific unit, but the number may be in the range of 2 different drives.

the boats a 1980 galaxy with a mercruiser 120. im assuming it was the original engine in there. i just replaced the block with a 1985 tho since it cracked over the winter.

i looked in the mercruiser engine/drive model year reference chart. it says an 1980 120 has a mc-1 drive
i looked in service manual #4 and your s/n falls within the for mc-120 - 260 stern drive units for all ratios. this service manual is called mercruiser I-drive service manual..

must be a 1 drive...
