So with little response to my other threads I think Ive figured out the route id like to go to fix my boat (cracked block). Its a 99 Glaston with a GM305 5.0L Volvo Penta motor. Ive found a local engine reman/machine shop who sells GM 305 complete reman short blocks for pretty cheap and Im wondering what all I need to do to marinize this motor? From what I gathered from reading I need to change the freeze plugs and the head gaskets, is this correct? Ive also read about changing cams, is this necessary? or can I just replace the freeze plugs/head gaskets and put my heads, exhaust/intake manifold etc off my motor and be good to go? Just want to clear everything up before I pull the trigger on this short block....Thanks - Josh
