marine engine same as auto?

Hello group,

My friend and I have a number of boats. We were wondering if there is a difference between let say a 3 L marine engine and the auto engine of the same size and manufacturer?

You will not find the Gm/Merc in any car......
They are Marine/industrial applications only......​

Ayuh,.......

If there Were the Same 3.0l motors in cars,..... It Might be a possibilty,.....
But as noted,..... The 3.0l has Never been used in an automotive Appl......
And,......
The 2.5l that Was used in automotive Appls.,..... Is Totally Different that the 2,5ls that are used in Boats........

Now........ a 305 or 350 or 454 is a Different Story,........
They're the Same motors built with slightly Different Components..........
