lower unit dog(Chrysler)

Searched the archives and couldn't find anything so, here goes. I got the lower unit apart and I found the clutch dog worn on the forward gear side. Can I reverse the dog. I've also got another LU with cracked housing but a good dog. Can I use that. Chrysler 1970 554HA.

Don't know if you can reverse it. But why not use the other one. Same model, right? Why not?

I don't know what motor you have but I think you can reverse the dog...have done that a couple of times successfully...just a Thought
