Lower unit disassembly. merc classic fifty

Hi, after various failed attempts to remove my stuck lower unit,(driveshaft stuck in crank) is it possible to disassemble the lower unit while it is attached in order for me to disconnect the driveshaft and take off the lower unit. i would leave the driveshaft attached at the crank and then re assemble. its a long process just to change impeller but is it possible??

Nope as driveshaft has to be removed from powerhead to slide impeller & cover on and off.
