Hi, I'm looking at 1999 boat with twin 2008 200 ETEC's. I'm looking for suggestions on what to check/look out for with these motors. I currently have a 2000 200HP Ficht (owned it for 7 years) and have been through the EMM issues (3x) and do all my routine maintenance myself, so I'm pretty familiar with the Ficht.
Do these ETEC motors have any common issues to be on the look-out for?
Are these as easy to work on as the Fichts?
I do have the software, so I plan to check the recorded history in the computers.
